The cast for Secret is filling out. It has now been confirmed that Hwang Jung Eum will be Ji Sung‘s leading lady in this upcoming melodrama as two ill-fated lovers – she a former wrongly-convicted-inmate and he a bad-boy-chaebol. Bae Soo Bin and Lee Da Hee (finishing her stint at I Hear Your Voice) will also star, rounding out the love square. Bae plays Do Hoon, who seems to be an upstanding brilliant man fighting for justice until a life-changing event changes him completely. Lee plays Shin Se Yeon, a woman who has everything but love (duh); is this a repeat to her Birdie Buddy character?

(Congratulations to Ji Sung by the way, who’s getting married to lady love Lee Bo Young quite soon!)

  • Meanwhile, on the set of Age of FeelingKim Hyun Joong has found his leading lady in Im Soo Hyang. Oh boy. I don’t know about her at all based on her performance in IRIS 2, but apparently she fell in love with the script, so hopefully she’ll act with passion (if she can). The drama takes place in Shanghai during the Japanese occupation. As a side note, I find it interesting that it’ll take place in Shanghai; will the characters ever come back to Korea? Are they going to address the fact that Koreans are in Shanghai, as I doubt they’ll be speaking in Chinese? It’s an interesting concept because most of the Korean dramas I’ve seen or heard always bring the Korean characters back to Korea; they may be abroad for a bit, but they return. Rarely are the stories developed with having the characters remain in a foreign place; that’s something more for movies than dramas. (I’m sure production costs are the more realistic factor here, and it’s entirely possible to build a Shanghai set in Korea.)
  • Gummy is singing for the OST of The Master’s Sun. It’s beautiful and haunting, and perfectly keeping to the tone of a ghostly, sad melodrama. However, it’s definitely not what I’m expecting from this Hong Sisters’ drama.
  • In this week’s episode 11 of Sword and Flower No Min Woo will be making his appearance as Yeon Nam Saeng, the eldest legitimate son of Choi Min Shik‘s character, Yeon Gaesomun… and that also makes him Yeon Choong (Uhm Tae Woong’s) half-brother. I just can’t get over the fact that No looks so feminine… His stint will be from episodes 11 to 20.

  • Oh Ji Eun (The King of Dramas) and Jeon Hyo Sung of Secret will be joining Oh Ji Ho in his new OCN drama Ghost Detective Cho Young. Oh Ji Eun will play female detective Ha Sun Woo, who is Yoon Cho Young (Oh Ji Ho)’s partner. Hyo Sung will play the ghostly female high schooler Han Na Young. The drama will air on October 6.

  1. darn! why is everyone getting hitched?!!! i’m heart broken about bae soo bin. the rest can get married but DEFINITELY NOT Song Seung Heon and Park Si Hoo. Pleaseeeeeee! at least, not in the next 5years! lol

  2. I’m so baffled reading how random netizens are confused over love and marriage with their fave celebs. Like they would have any chance at that. Maybe that has to do with young age? C’mon, get real. At the most you’ll get an unsatisfying sexual encounter if you actually were to meet the ‘man of your dreams’.
