Cha Seung Won recently won two awards in Mnet’s 20′s Choice Awards. Hosted by Suzy and Song Joong Ki, the awards show gave ukelele trophies to stars chosen by the fans in many categories. For Cha, he won both Hot Drama Actor and Hot Male Body (with a 6-pack). No doubt this is because of his burst of fame from Greatest Love. His costar Gong Hyo Jin also won Hot Drama Actress and Hot Style Icon.

Other winners included KARA (Hot Hallyu Star), Suzy (Hot New Star), B2ST (Hot Performance Star), Honey Lee (Hot Female Body), Yoo Ah In (Hot 20′s Voice), and Goo Hara (Hot Campus Girl). The full list can be seen here.

Well well now. When one couple ends, another blossoms! Goo Hara (from girl group KARA and currently in City Hunter) and BEAST’s Yong Joon Hyung are officially dating. (The guys have similar names too…) Photos of the two revealed them holding hands, and so their agencies released a statement confirming their coupledom. Congratulations to the two! It’ll be young puppy love. I don’t think it’ll last, but it’s nice to see these overworked pop idols take some time to be “normal” and date.

Actress Woori

Looks like the media frenzy has done enough damage. Lee Jia dropped her lawsuit against Seo Taiji after realizing that it would be difficult to continue after all the pain she’s caused to the people around her. The media certainly made it worse on her than it could have been. Seo released a statement saying that they had married in 1997, separated in 2000, and divorced in 2006 despite efforts to mend their relationship. He had not expected this lawsuit at all. Papers were also released showing that the two had officially divorced in 2006 (rather than 2009, as Lee had claimed), and that she had waived her rights for spousal support from the singer.

OK – while she may have had a good reason for bringing up the lawsuit, can I just say how ridiculous it is that you created a media frenzy by claiming you divorced in 2009, and asking for money after you waived spousal support? Why lie?! Why go through all this chaos if you’re gonna lose this lawsuit anyways?

Did you really want to get revenge on Seo Taiji and just see if you could tarnish his image? (‘Cause that’s what her statement seemed to say to me.)

Waha! The duet! Lady Gaga and Maria Aragon finally had their duet on the Toronto stage the past weekend. I think it’s awesome that they sang “Born This Way” together – and cute that Maria sat on Lady Gaga’s lap. A little weird that she sat on underwear-clad Lady Gaga though.

Ack! I just finished watching Secret Garden episode 17, and GAH – TEARJERKER! OK, I realize that certain parts of it were pretty sappy, no lie, but when you put a great male actor like Hyun Bin in front of me, crying his eyes out, I can’t help but want to cry too. Not that I did, I’m just saying I wanted to.

Anyways – the scene in the hospital? BEST SCENE EVER. Why? Because it just put all the actors (save the mother) in one place at one time, acting their hearts out. And to be hit with all that at once is just overwhelming.

Aww – Kim Bum and Hwang Jung Eum (of Woman Who Still Wants to Marry and High Kick Through the Roof respectively) have a new CF together promoting a buffet-like restaurant called D’Maris. (I would like to see a restaurant in the States make a commercial like this. And I don’t mean your Burger King/McDonalds/Wendy’s type of thing.) This particular CF shows off Hwang’s singing and dancing, and ends with Kim Bum and Hwang doing a couple heart. Hence the “aww…”

Lee Yoo Ri (Loving You, Daring Women) just got married! She married a missionary studying theology two days ago in a small wedding that included a few celebrities: Lee Soon Jae, Kim Soo Mi, and Hong Soo Young. She met her husband two years ago at a Bible study group. She held a small press conference before her wedding – perhaps to give the press the pics they want without having them inside her wedding. Doesn’t she look like a princess?

Dream Concert 2010

One of the biggest K-pop events ever just finished, with 40,000 in the audience. The event went off smoothly – thanks to the experienced Kim Heechul, who smoothed over all the awkward and in-between moments with his jokes and getting the other two newbie hosts Taecyeon and Shin Se Kyung get into the groove of hosting. This year there were more waiting-periods between performances, and singers wouldn’t come onstage on time after they were announced. So instead of having 40,000 grumpy viewers, we had 40,000 appeased viewers.

But less chatter and on to the photos!
