SBS has announced that they might air Daepoongsoo (tentative title), a 50-episode historical drama about the founding of the Joseon dynasty with Joo Ji Hoon headlining. It was supposed to go up by the end of 2011, but might be reconsidered for the end of 2012 since production is still in the air.
This would have been Joo’s comeback after he completes his service in November. He had also halted his acting career in 2009 due to being caught for illegal drug use.
I would be SO excited, because I really like him. He knows how to emote, and is the first (and rare) actor who made me cry while watching a drama (it was Goong). But since this is really way off in the future, I won’t keep my hopes up too high, since casting changes are sudden and fickle.
I’m sorely behind on news updates aren’t I? They come in bits and pieces… every three-four days or so…kekeke…Why the two dates? Because in my world, it’s already the 21st, but I SWEAR I was writing this on the 20th.
Anyways – it’s a complete TRAVESTY to see Yoona of SNSDbe cast oppositeJang Geun Suk in the drama Love in the Rain, headed by the Four Seasons-director Yoon Suk Ho. She was chosen because she could portray “innocence and purity” required of the dual characters she’s playing (the mother in the 1970′s and the daughter in present time; Jang is doing the same thing with his character). Why do I hate the casting choice so much?
Because 1) I saw her in 9 End 2 Outs and she was irritating. She’s perfect at being annoying; and 2) I don’t see her appeal. I get that she kinda matches with Jang Geun Suk in terms of youth and looks, but she’s not amazing. I don’t see why people think she’s cute; I think her face is too expressionless save for a placid smile; she’s not even interesting in SNSD music videos; and I don’t think she’s someone who should headline a big drama like this.
I refuse to watch this drama, unless someone puts a head restraint on me to lock my eyes on the screen and watch her act. Call me violently biased, but hey, I can have my opinion on an actress right?
Jang Geun Suk! How could you betray me like that?!
He tweeted the photo of him sharing a blanket with Song Joong Ki. He said that he prefers girls more but is wondering why on earth Joong Ki-hyung is next to him. Lies! You totally know why he’s next to you!
I really needed the headline to tell me that it was Song Joong Ki though. Otherwise I would have assumed it was Gong Yoo, because they kinda look alike in this shot. But if it were Gong Yoo, someone is definitely going to get a beating from me!
My life is complete because I saw Jang Geun Suk. Who cares about Kim Hyun Joong, Song Joong Ki, Yoona, and JYJ when you got THIS GUY?!
I also saw a Park Shi Hoo commercial on the subway TVs. I died. He even had to change his shirt onscreen. I propose that he have a shirtless scene in The Princess’ Man - one that is completely unnecessary but totally necessary for me.
This time difference thing is throwing me off too. I’m technically on Day 2, but home is on Day 1. Anyways…
Several observations – Seoul is intensely hot and muggy. Underground malls are cooler than some market places. Insadong is really nice, Myeongdong is hip, Namdaemun Road is fancy, and Namdaemun Market is overrated.
Also – getting lost is awesome. Getting lost and then having your feet die by the end of the day isn’t.
Well if we can’t get them in a drama together, a photo shoot works too! Jang Geun Suk and Park Shin Hye pose pretty for Codes Combine’s Haiker 2011 Fall-Winter Line. Jang has been modeling for them since last year, but Park has recently teamed up with him.
Jang Geun Suk has nabbed another role?! The guy is busy enough as it is! Aside from filming “You’re My Pet” and recently finishing up an Asia Tour, he’s now said to be starring in Yoon Seok Ho‘s upcoming drama “Love in the Rain.” Yoon is known for his Season dramas – Winter Sonata, Autumn in My Heart, Spring Waltz, and Summer Scent.
I was under the impression that Yoon was going to be producing another drama – “Our Happy Youthful Days” with T.O.P., which would air after Spy Myung Wol. Then again, “Love in the Rain” (which is the tentative title) doesn’t have a broadcast date yet, but is said to start shooting in September.
Me, confused? Yes. Excited? No. Jang Geun Suk + Melodrama is one thing I do not want to see. Even if he can pull it off, I don’t want to see my Sukkie crying or moping over some girl with some illness.
OK – with this piece of news, I’m just waiting for something bad to happen to Jung Yong Hwa and/or Lee Hong Ki so that we can just finish cursing the fates of the You’re Beautiful stars. Really world – I dare ya.
I am procrastinating studying by a leetle bit with this post.
Jang Geun Suk and Lee Min Jungfilmed a short film/CF for Cartier titled ‘Bague’, which means ‘ring’ in French. And of course – it’s about a Cartier ring. Anyways – the short film runs at 6 minutes long. One thing I’m amazed about is how there would be CF’s and mini movies for products and brands, and they would be longer than the usual 30 seconds or 1 minute. I rarely see long commercials like that for American products.
The film is very poetic in style. While Jang is cute, I can’t help but notice his acting, whereas Lee always has this blissful vacant look on her face. It doesn’t mean she can’t act, it’s just she’s so freaky – but that’s how her character is supposed to be. Anyways – they share an underwater kiss, and to me, it’s not all that. BUT! It’s pretty.
