Goodness – everyone in the entertainment industry is hooking up with someone! Is it just me or weren’t there a lot of marriages/engagements/new relationships unfolding this year?
So Yi Hyun (Heartstrings, Gloria) is set to marry a “Mr. Lee,” someone she’s met during her Assorted Gems days. They met through a drama producer and were dating for about a year.
Congrats to her! Her two costars/onscreen lovers Song Chang Ui and Lee Chun Hee are in relationships already.

So there was an earthquake in Virginia that affected New York. Supposedly. While I do know people who felt it, I personally didn’t. Call me Doubting Thomas, but I don’t believe it happened unless I see/feel it.
BUT! I do remember what I was doing at that time. I… *drumroll* was watching Heartstrings. Sad, no? How a drama can so envelope my attention that I didn’t even notice my chair shaking. If it was shaking. I do remember it shaking, but I thought it was a coworker trying to get my attention. We both shake each other’s chairs like mad, so we swore that if another earthquake were to happen, we’d turn to each other and go, “What?!”
Goodness – accidents just really don’t stop do they? This time, it’s Hong Soo Hyun from The Princess’ Man. The actress – who plays the spoiled princess Kyung Hye – got into a car accident at around 4 in the morning. Her car had hit another car off the highway and was totaled. She suffered a rib fracture, while her manager suffered a serious injury to his arm. Though Hong wanted to go back on set to shoot, she couldn’t as she had to go back to the hospital and get proper treatment.
*Sigh….
It just so happens that The Princess’ Man also finally ranked number one in ratings for Wednesday-Thursdays. They got 14.9% viewers, while new series Protect the Boss got 12-14% viewers. Unfortunately, Heartstrings stayed in the 5% range.
It’s very likely that this is what will happen to this wonderful little series. It’s popularity is big, but its ratings are small. Kinda like You’re Beautiful.
Looks like our Heartstrings couple is going to go on a date! Or try to. Or not.
Whichever way it is, they end up at Baskin Robbins, which immediately brings back memories of when Jung Yong Hwa was watching over Park Shin Hye by guiding her through the streets and telling her where to go for food or clothes or dessert in You’re Beautiful. That was one of the sweetest scenes with the two of them together. I think I need to rewatch that series just to watch the two of them… because honestly back then Jang Geun Suk took up too much of my attention to really pay proper attention to Jung.
Park Shin Hye returns after her car accident with a new perm, showing off her new curls in a recent tweet. She had requested her “Lee Gyu Won” look, which her stylist then gave her, but now all she has to worry about is if her curls will fall apart in Korea’s current wet weather. Because she looks oh-so-cute, her photo has sent netizens a-buzzing about loving her hairstyle. Personally? I don’t even get why this made it on the news…and look, here I am writing about it! Heh.
Guess who’s back on set!?
Park Shin Hye was recently given the OK from doctors to return to set after being in a car accident and requiring re-hospitalization on Wednesday. She is expected to be on set during the weekend, and filming can resume. The eighth episode will air this coming Wednesday.

Park Shin Hye (Heartstrings) was in a recent car accident that resulted in five people getting injured. Her van rammed into a guardrail on the highway late last night. The five people, including her manager and the actress herself, were all sent to the hospital even though none had serious injuries.
Bae Yong Joon and Choi Ji Woo were the two biggest stars of Hallyu, introducing Korean dramas to all over with their landmark classic drama Winter Sonata. They’re the top dog, even if they may not have as prolific a filmography as some other Korean actors we know.
Cha Seung Won recently won two awards in Mnet’s 20′s Choice Awards. Hosted by Suzy and Song Joong Ki, the awards show gave ukelele trophies to stars chosen by the fans in many categories. For Cha, he won both Hot Drama Actor and Hot Male Body (with a 6-pack). No doubt this is because of his burst of fame from Greatest Love. His costar Gong Hyo Jin also won Hot Drama Actress and Hot Style Icon.
Other winners included KARA (Hot Hallyu Star), Suzy (Hot New Star), B2ST (Hot Performance Star), Honey Lee (Hot Female Body), Yoo Ah In (Hot 20′s Voice), and Goo Hara (Hot Campus Girl). The full list can be seen here.
