News Bits: 8/1/11 Edition

Oh dear. Kim Jeong Hoon (currently in I Need Romance) recently got booked for DUI and had his driver’s license revoked. Someone reported him for driving after drinking, and was pulled over. His alcohol level was 0.129%, which was enough for him to get his license revoked.

The actor was just getting his stride after coming back from the military, acting in I Need Romance and shooting the film “Punchline” with Yoo Dong Gun. He was also set to host two music shows in Japan – “Gaon Monthly Countdown” and “M-Studio.”

Well – at least he didn’t get into an accident.

Happy Lunar New Year! 新年快乐,恭禧发财! (My inner China Girl just came out right there…)

Anyways! Who’s got more resolutions?! On January 1, I made the resolution the live it up more and have fun, but on February 3 I’m making the resolution to work hard and watch more dramas! (The second resolution sounds contradictory, but actually it’s not :P ) So here’s to catching up on My Princess and watching oldies but goodies that I missed.

Also – it’s the Year of the Rabbit, and to celebrate it, DramaFever is holding another contest. They had a Secret Garden one that I didn’t get to win (boo) but I tweeted for this one. T-shirt looks mighty cute! And I looooooooove bunnies! Details are here.

News Bits: 8/4/10 Edition

Oh my God. This is so stupid but so funny. (And I’m putting it in this news bits section, so clearly I’m not helping in letting this ridiculousness spread.) Rain and Lee Jung Jin recently posed in a photo together standing as stiff as boards to prove that Rain is taller than Lee. Or, at least the same height (which looks to me as more of the case).

Lee: Haha. This is so funny. Look – another photographer who can’t get enough of our bromance. Smile!

Rain: I. Can’t. Must. Stand. Straighter. Just. One. More. Centimeter!

Cinderella’s Sister’s Kim Gab Soo, Ok Taecyeon, Chun Jung Myung, and Moon Geun Young are re-teaming to record a special DVD extra for the drama. They also conducted interviews and recorded commentaries. The DVD will be released in August. As popular as it was, there were definitely some complaints about the drama, and the actors will address them in some way through their interviews. Ah Chun… though I have a mini crush on you right now, there is no way in hell I am touching Cinderella’s Sister.

What’s Up Fox: A Review

I don’t know what it is about older women-younger men dramas, but I just realized I saw three this year: Woman Who Still Wants to Marry, Dal Ja’s Spring, and now What’s Up Fox?

They were all in varying degrees of entertaining and good-ness. Dal Ja’s Spring is definitely better than Woman, and I think What’s Up Fox is up there too. (The writer of My Name is Kim Sam Soon also did What’s Up Fox, but Sam Soon was infinitely better story wise.)

It doesn’t hurt to have Chun Jung Myung charming his way into Go Hyun Jung‘s and my hearts too.

South Korea has advanced to the Round of 16! Woot Woot!

And with that, Shoo gave birth to her baby boy! She gave birth a few days early, but all is well for the mother and the baby. She went into labor the same day South Korea had its match with Nigeria, and drew a tie that ensured entry into the Round of 16. Congratulations!

She is not the only celebrity to be celebrating the win though. Chun Jung Myung was cheering for the Korean team and had predicted Park Chu Young would make a goal in the game (which he did). Jang Geun Suk celebrated the win while in a hotel in Seoul and stated that he was proud to be a Korean after that win. It’s quite a big victory for Korea, since they’ve never made it past the Groups stages before, with the exception of 2002 when Seoul hosted the World Cup.
