I finally finished Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge! (That took a while…)
In general, it was fun and ridiculous, but the last two episodes were particularly heartbreaking. Let’s just say, I cried in the ninth episode (I RARELY cry by the way, and if you do, it’s almost always because the lead male actor is crying) and felt incredibly sad and incredibly happy within a span of five seconds in the last episode.
I like the manga, but I REALLY like the ending of this drama.
*Spoilers Abound - since I will discuss parts of episodes 9 and 10!*
As noted before, Jeonju International Film Festival begins today. So We have to check out our ambassadors Song Joong Ki and Park Shin Hye! They made an appearance on the red carpet for the first day of the festival.
Maybe you can tell by the fact that I post a LOT of Prosecutor Princess bits that I’m kinda obsessed with this show. Kinda.
Halfway through the series, the ratings for this show have remained dismally low – which completely sucks because these actors are pretty talented. Kim So Yeon is wonderful here for portraying a completely different character from her previous ones AND managing to be likable despite her shallowness.
So the following pictures that you’ll see are 1) something to look forward to if you’re watching the series and 2) perhaps a ratings pull to get in those girls to start watching.
And wait, one more picture from Han Jung Soo‘s twitter, and then we’ll get to the spoilers.
Oh my goodness… the end of April is coming so quickly!
It’s also the start of the 11th Jeonju International Film Festival!
Singer Kim Jong Kook‘s niece is debuting as a singer as well on Music Bank tomorrow, April 30th. Soya is one half of the duo Soya n Sun, and they released their first single “Laugh While Saying Goodbye” last week. (If only I had a relative to get me a foot in the industry… oh wait, I need to have talent first.)
Seo Woo only debuted four years ago, and she’s already a rapidly rising star. A shooting star! – but won’t fall. A rocket ship! – but won’t return to Earth just yet.
In the following excerpted interview, she speaks about the several roles that she is known for, including Hyo Sun in Cinderella’s Sister, Eun Mo in Paju and Bo Jin in Tamra the Island. And she’ll have the role as Hera in “The Housemaid” to add to her expanding resume. She sounds like a very conscientious actress (and I’m glad she even addresses her features, which look incredibly youthful for her age!).
Here’s something that made my jaw drop to the floor.
Lee Jun Ki dropped out of BOTH his film “Grand Prix” and his drama Faith to enlist in the army…next week! Though it’s good since he knows he cannot delay it any further, “Grand Prix” has already started shooting. Now both productions are going to have to find someone to replace him…
Maybe it sounds like I’m exaggerating, but really – my jaw dropped!
Cha Seung Won is a pretty busy guy. Not only does he have the film “Blades of Blood” coming out soon, but he also has “Into the Fire” being released on the anniversary of the Korean War, and is going to start working on the highly anticipated drama ATHENA.
He’s not the youngest working actor out there, and he has definitely been around for about 20 years, first as a model and then as an actor. However, he does seem to be getting into that second phase of his career as though he’s making a come back… even though he never really left.
Here’s a small behind the scenes shot from Prosecutor Princess of Choi Song Hyun. It is not too spoiler-y…depending on how you take it. I think she’s beeeyouuuuuteeeful. =)
Ivy, getting all the scandals behind her, is going to star in a musical called, Kiss Me Kate, which is based off Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. Her role will be Bianca, who plays the younger sister who wants to get married, but can’t until her shrewish older sister Kate gets married first. When the play first premiered in Korea it was a huge hit and won several awards. This revival is running from July 9-August 14.
